Huntsville's McGill deadly on offense in 6-2 win against Augusta

Aaron McGill was all over the ice for the Huntsville Havoc, as he tallied two goals in Huntsville's 6-2 win over the Augusta RiverHawks.

McGill's tallies came at 7:05 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Huntsville and 17:45 into the first to make the score 3-1 Huntsville.

The Havoc pulled out the victory even though they were hit with 29 penalty minutes.

Huntsville's goal total was higher than its season average. This season, the Havoc average 2.5 goals per contest. Huntsville put 38 shots on net during the contest, more than the 19.6 it averages per game.

Huntsville also got points from Stuart Stefan, who also registered two goals and one assist to lead the team in points. Huntsville also got a goal from Kyle Laughlin as well. Other players who recorded assists for Huntsville were Paul DAgostino, Matt Smyth, Sam Cannata, Chapen LeBlond, Anthony Battaglia, and Corey Fulton, who each chipped in one and Ian Boots and Mike Gurtler, who contributed two a piece.

Augusta's offense rang up 46 shots on the Havoc's net.

The RiverHawks were helped by Taylor Larsen, who tallied one goal. Larsen scored 11:18 into the first period to make the score 2-1 Huntsville. Marcus Pryde picked up the assist. Kyle Watson also scored for Augusta. More assists for Augusta came via Casey Mignone and Myles McCauley, who each chipped in one.

Dan McWhinney rejected 44 shots on goal for Huntsville. The Havoc registered two goals on six power play opportunities. Robbie Moss took the loss and made 25 saves before being replaced by Brandon Foote who made seven saves. Augusta totaled 17 minutes in penalty time with six minors and one major and went 1-for-7 on the power play.
