The Louisiana IceGators gutted out a close 3-2 win against Mississippi Surge.

Louisiana gained the winning advantage on a goal by Matthew Robertson 5:20 into the second period and hung on until final buzzer.

Robertson had a great game for the IceGators, netting two goals.

Louisiana's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on four Mississippi Surge power plays. The IceGators relied on a core group of players for most of their offense, as Robertson, Troy Ofukany and Matt Lawrance took 13 of the team's 24 shots.

Louisiana additionally got points from Jeremey Boyer, who also registered one goal and two assists to lead the team in points. In addition, Louisiana received assists from Shawn McNeil, who had two and Tyler Lyon and Kirk Byczynski, who contributed one a piece.
