Jersey Wildcats survives New York Apple Core comeback, wins 7-6

New York Apple Core tried its best to erase a four-goal deficit, but Jersey Wildcats would not be denied the victory and hung on to win, 7-6.

Jersey Wildcats took a 6-2 lead during the third period, only to have New York Apple Core storm back on a Colton Schnall goal 15:13 into the third period to pull to one goal down.

Ryan Demgard was all over the ice for Jersey Wildcats, as he had two goals in the win. Demgard's tallies came at 30 seconds into the first period to make the score 1-0 Jersey Wildcats and 17:19 into the first to make the score 3-1 Jersey Wildcats.

Jersey Wildcats made New York Apple Core's goaltenders to work without much rest, racking up 61 shots and forcing 54 saves. Madison Martin made 54 stops and Dominic Lamanno made zero. Jersey Wildcats found the back of the net more times than it usually has this season. This season, Jersey Wildcats averages 3.4 goals per contest. Team's forwards weren't the only contributers offensively, and the team's defensemen showcased their scoring touch with two goals.

Jersey Wildcats additionally got points from Wilson Calderon, who also finished with one goal and one assist and Alex Kempinski, who also tallied one goal and two assists to lead the team in points. Jersey Wildcats also got a goal from Nicholas Hall as well. In addition, Jersey Wildcats received assists from Anthony Ricciardi, Kyle Davey, Michael Matos, Christopher Butryn, and Tommy Kemly, who contributed one a piece.

New York Apple Core managed to stay out of the box better than usual, registering one minor for two minutes in penalty time.
