McKerry nets hat trick, leads Philadelphia Revolution to 9-2 win over Frederick Freeze

Patrick McKerry lifted Philadelphia Revolution to a 9-2 victory with a hat trick against Frederick Freeze.

McKerry's first goal came 16 seconds into the first period. He then added goals at 19:22 into the second and at 16:12 into the third.

Frederick Freeze's 13 penalties came back to haunt it, as Frederick Freeze let up five goals while on the penalty kill.

Philadelphia Revolution made Frederick Freeze's netminders to work hard to keep the puck out of the net, totaling 50 shots and forcing 41 saves. John Ketzenberger made 25 stops and Daniyal Hannan made 16. Philadelphia Revolution's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on five Frederick Freeze power plays. Philadelphia Revolution bested its season scoring average. This season, Philadelphia Revolution averages 3.1 goals per contest. Philadelphia Revolution could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 18 minutes in penalties during the game.

Philadelphia Revolution also got points from Kevin Stickle, who also finished with one goal and one assist and Andrew Bily, who also registered two goals and three assists to lead the team in points. Philadelphia Revolution also got a goal from Andre Viens as well. In addition, Philadelphia Revolution received assists from Ryan Zujkowski, who had two and Nolan Iorio, Corey Lasko, and Frank Sabato, who contributed one a piece.

Frederick Freeze forced its penalty killing units to work especially hard during the game, picking up 11 minors and two majors for 42 minutes in penalty time. Frederick Freeze had been averaging 17.0 minutes in penalties per game.

Frederick Freeze was helped by Nathan Miller, who had one goal. Miller scored 19:55 into the first period to make the score 2-2. Matthew Paris picked up the assist. Evan Klein also scored for Frederick Freeze. More assists for Frederick Freeze came via Ben Margolis, Andrew Henson, and Michael Adams, who each chipped in one.

Troy Klahre made 25 saves for Philadelphia Revolution on 27 shots.
