Junior Bruins blows out Boch Blazers, 7-3

Junior Bruins had a four-goal lead after two periods and cruised the rest of the way en route to a 7-3 win over Boch Blazers.

Junior Bruins got the win with help from a great game by Jake McKinnon, who had two goals and one assist. McKinnon scored the first of his two goals at 6:04 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Junior Bruins. Luke Prendergast picked up the assist. McKinnon's next tally made the score 6-0 Junior Bruins with 10:43 left in the second period. Daniel Resop provided the assist.

Junior Bruins stifled Boch Blazers' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Junior Bruins' offense rang up 53 shots on Boch Blazers' net.

Junior Bruins additionally got points from Tucker Falk, who also grabbed one goal and two assists. Others who scored for Junior Bruins included Tyler Kirby, who had two and Ryan Azar and Corey Deres, who scored one goal each. In addition, Junior Bruins received assists from John Buchanan and Alex Duplessie, who contributed one a piece.

Boch Blazers put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Junior Bruins to score on any of its three power plays. Boch Blazers was held below its usual level of production. Boch Blazers puts an average of 5.6 pucks into the net per game. Boch Blazers' defense let in more goals than it usually has this year. Boch Blazers gives up 2.5 goals per game.

Boch Blazers was led by Ryan McCarthy, who racked up one goal and one assist. McCarthy scored 16:20 into the third period to make the score 7-3 Junior Bruins. Emilio Botelho picked up the assist. Sidney Thomas also scored for Boch Blazers. Other players who recorded assists for Boch Blazers were Jan Kovacik and Patrick Hayes, who each chipped in one.

Benjamin Gagnon rejected 25 shots on goal for Junior Bruins. Junior Bruins ended with 13 minutes in penalty time with four minors and one major. Lucas Paulson recorded 46 saves for Boch Blazers. Boch Blazers incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
