Boch Blazers outlasts Suffolk Juniors, 6-4Brewster Ice Arena Sun, Mar 10, 2013 Story by Narrative Science.
The game between Boch Blazers and Suffolk Juniors was tight through all 60 minutes, but in the end Boch Blazers emerged with a 6-4 win. No lead was more than two goals during the contest, and the winning goal was scored by Patrick Hayes at 17:17 of the second period. Boch Blazers got the win on the strength of a great game by Hayes, who had two goals and one assist. Suffolk Juniors' power play was ineffective against Boch Blazers' penalty kill, which allowed zero goals while shorthanded. Boch Blazers forced its penalty killing units to work especially hard during the game, picking up six minors and one major for 27 minutes in penalty time. Boch Blazers had been averaging 20.0 minutes in penalties per game. Boch Blazers made Suffolk Juniors' goalies to work in net, taking 39 shots and forcing 33 saves. Eric Tatarian made 10 stops and Anthony Pupplo made 23. Boch Blazers stifled Suffolk Juniors' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Boch Blazers also got points from Sidney Thomas, who also tallied one goal and two assists and Brian Fisher, who also finished with one goal and one assist. Boch Blazers also got a goal from Trevor Berman as well. Other players who recorded assists for Boch Blazers were Adam Lewis, who had two and Emilio Botelho, who had three. Suffolk Juniors put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Boch Blazers to score on any of its four power plays. Suffolk Juniors kept Boch Blazers' goalie busy throughout the game, and Cody Stocker made 42 saves on 46 shots. Suffolk Juniors was led by Joseph Quinn, who grabbed two goals and one assist. Quinn scored the first of his two goals at 10:03 into the second period to make the score 4-3 Boch Blazers. Quinn's next tally made the score 4-4 with 3:25 left in the second period. Michael Vaiano picked up the assist. Axl Frisina also scored for Suffolk Juniors. In addition, Suffolk Juniors received assists from Joseph Bizzaro and Nicholas Falino, who each chipped in one. Boch Blazers ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Sean Lowe was ejected from the game. Suffolk Juniors incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
