Gagnon stymies Boch Blazers, Junior Bruins wins 2-1

Benjamin Gagnon had a standout game with 32 saves, and Junior Bruins beat Boch Blazers 2-1.

Boch Blazers' power play was ineffective against Junior Bruins' penalty kill, which allowed zero goals while shorthanded.

Junior Bruins was paced by John Buchanan, who had one goal and one assist. Buchanan scored 11:40 into the third period to make the score 2-1 Junior Bruins. Tyler Kirby assisted on the tally.

Junior Bruins put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Boch Blazers to score on any of its six power plays. Junior Bruins was held below its usual level of production. Junior Bruins averages 6.2 goals per game. Boch Blazers was unable to stop Junior Bruins from sending pucks towards the net, and Junior Bruins eventually piled up 52 shots on goal.

Junior Bruins also got a goal from Dommichael Piccini as well. Other players who recorded assists for Junior Bruins were Jonathan Panarelli, who had one.

Boch Blazers was led by Riley Smith, who scored the team's only goal. Smith scored 3:03 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Boch Blazers. Sean Lowe provided the assist.
