New York Apple Core uses early goal to top Jersey Wildcats, 5-4

New York Apple Core took the lead against Jersey Wildcats in the first period and maintained it until the end of the game to secure a tight 5-4 victory.

A goal 18:23 into the the first period by Brian OSullivan proved to be the game winner, and powered New York Apple Core to the victory New York Apple Core had gotten the advantage when Jersey Wildcats' Anthony Ricciardi was sent off for cross checking. Phil Laurelli provided the assist.

New York Apple Core was led by Michael Buffoleno, who grabbed one goal. Buffoleno scored 14:57 into the second period to make the score 5-3 New York Apple Core.

New York Apple Core's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on three Jersey Wildcats power plays. New York Apple Core kept Jersey Wildcats' goalie busy throughout the game, and Nathan Leo made 30 saves on 35 shots. New York Apple Core got an offensive boost from its blueliners, who contributed two goals during the game.

New York Apple Core also got points from Laurelli, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Travis Quigley also scored for New York Apple Core. In addition, New York Apple Core received assists from Thomas McGovern, who had two and Andrew Cunningham and Colton Schnall, who each chipped in one.

Jersey Wildcats was helped by Corey Carnahan, who registered one goal. Carnahan scored 6:15 into the second period to make the score 3-2 New York Apple Core. Thomas Brennan assisted on the tally. Jersey Wildcats additionally got points from Brennan, who also finished with one goal and one assist. Jersey Wildcats also got a goal from Alex Kempinski as well. More assists for Jersey Wildcats came via Tommy Savino, who had one and Michael Matos, who had two.

Dominic Lamanno made 24 saves for New York Apple Core on 28 shots. New York Apple Core incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Jersey Wildcats incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
