New Hampshire Jr Monarchs survives Islanders Hockey Club comeback, wins 8-6

Islanders Hockey Club tried its best to erase a four-goal deficit, but New Hampshire Jr Monarchs would not be denied the victory and hung on to win, 8-6.

A goal by Eric Rackett put New Hampshire Jr Monarchs up 8-4 in the second period, but Islanders Hockey Club pulled to within two on Jeff Scimone's tally 17:38 into the third period.

New Hampshire Jr Monarchs got the win with help from a great game by Rackett, who had four goals and three assists. Rackett notched his first tally 4:41 into the first period. He then added goals at 7:03 into the first and at 9:26 into the second.

New Hampshire Jr Monarchs' offense rang up 41 shots on Islanders Hockey Club's net. New Hampshire Jr Monarchs surpassed its usual scoring output this season. This season, New Hampshire Jr Monarchs averages 3.7 goals per contest. New Hampshire Jr Monarchs got an offensive boost from its blueliners, who contributed four goals during the game.

New Hampshire Jr Monarchs also got points from Storoniak William, who also grabbed two goals and three assists, Connor Stevens, who also finished with one goal and two assists, and Ryan Pacheco, who also registered one goal and two assists. More assists for New Hampshire Jr Monarchs came via Harry ODonoghue, who had three and Nicholas Deveau, Derek Clark, and Matthew Evans, who each chipped in one.

New Hampshire Jr Monarchs was unable to stop Islanders Hockey Club from sending pucks towards the net, and Islanders Hockey Club eventually piled up 41 shots on goal. Islanders Hockey Club bested its season scoring average. Islanders Hockey Club has scored at the pace of 3.4 goals per game during the current campaign.

Islanders Hockey Club was led by Ryan Loranger, who registered two goals and two assists. Loranger scored the first of his two goals at 52 seconds into the first period to make the score 1-0 Islanders Hockey Club. Matthew King picked up the assist. Loranger's next tally made the score 5-4 New Hampshire Jr Monarchs with 14:55 left in the second period. Islanders Hockey Club also got a goal from Nikita Polishchuk as well. In addition, Islanders Hockey Club received assists from Shannon Thomas, who had one.

Connor Marfongelli recorded 35 saves for New Hampshire Jr Monarchs. New Hampshire Jr Monarchs totaled 25 minutes in penalty time with five minors and one major and went 1-for-4 on the power play. New Hampshire Jr Monarchs ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Clark was ejected from the game. Islanders Hockey Club's Kyle Hichens stopped 33 shots out of the 41 that he faced. Islanders Hockey Club incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
