Garcia nets hat trick, leads Boch Blazers to 8-2 win over Islanders Hockey Club

Kurtis Garcia netted a hat trick to lead Boch Blazers over Islanders Hockey Club, 8-2.

Garcia got on the scoresheet 4:41 into the first period. He then added goals at 7:13 into the first and at 9:05 into the second.

Islanders Hockey Club trailed by one after the first period, but Boch Blazers went into the second intermission with a 5-1 lead and never looked back.

Boch Blazers stifled Islanders Hockey Club's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Boch Blazers' offense rang up 49 shots on Islanders Hockey Club's net.

Boch Blazers additionally got points from Sidney Thomas, who also registered two goals and one assist and Patrick Hayes, who also finished with one goal and three assists. Boch Blazers also got a goal from Joseph Fernandes as well. More assists for Boch Blazers came via Colin Cordeiro, who had four and Jacob Dyl and Emilio Botelho, who each chipped in one.

Islanders Hockey Club excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in five chances. Islanders Hockey Club forced Boch Blazers goalie Jake Ruby to work between the pipes, taking 31 shots.

Islanders Hockey Club was led by Evan Antisdale, who racked up one goal. Antisdale scored 3:04 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Islanders Hockey Club. Shannon Thomas provided the assist. Shane Cummiskey also scored for Islanders Hockey Club. In addition, Islanders Hockey Club received assists from Brett Buckley, who had one.

Boch Blazers' Ruby stopped 29 shots out of the 31 that he faced. Boch Blazers incurred 42 minutes in penalty time with six minors. For Boch Blazers, Fernandes was ejected from the game. Kyle Hichens made 41 saves for Islanders Hockey Club on 49 shots. Islanders Hockey Club incurred 22 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
