Suffolk Juniors rips Jersey Wildcats, 6-2

Suffolk Juniors had a two-goal lead after two periods and cruised the rest of the way en route to a 6-2 win over Jersey Wildcats.

Suffolk Juniors was paced by Salvatore Geraci, who finished with one goal. Geraci scored short handed 16:30 into the first period to make the score 3-1 Suffolk Juniors. Suffolk Juniors played down a man on Christopher Shanahan's tripping. Michael Gioia assisted on the tally.

In the losing effort, Jersey Wildcats was led by Carmine Taffo, who registered two goals. Taffo scored the first of his two goals at 2:03 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Jersey Wildcats. Taffo's next tally made the score 3-2 Suffolk Juniors with 2:11 left in the first period. Tommy Savino picked up the assist.

Suffolk Juniors' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on three Jersey Wildcats power plays. Suffolk Juniors forced Jersey Wildcats goalie Nathan Leo to work between the pipes, taking 35 shots.

Suffolk Juniors additionally got points from Joseph Bizzaro, who also grabbed one goal and two assists, Joseph Quinn, who also had two goals and one assist to lead the team in points, and Alex Posillico, who also finished with one goal and one assist. Suffolk Juniors also got a goal from Steven Azzara as well. More assists for Suffolk Juniors came via Anthony Modica and Michael Vaiano, who each chipped in one.

Jersey Wildcats' offense rang up 35 shots on Suffolk Juniors' net.

Suffolk Juniors' Eric Tatarian stopped 33 shots out of the 35 that he faced. Suffolk Juniors incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Leo recorded 29 saves for Jersey Wildcats. Jersey Wildcats incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
