Boch Blazers uses shootout to best Islanders Hockey Club, 5-4 (2-1 SO)

Three periods of regulation and an overtime session were not enough to settle matters as Boch Blazers defeated Islanders Hockey Club in a shootout 5-4 (2-1 SO).

The shootout lasted for six attempts between the teams. Islanders Hockey Club got a shootout goal from Harris Montanye. Boch Blazers also got a shootout goal from Colin Cordeiro.

Boch Blazers came back from a two-goal deficit to capture the victory. Boch Blazers fell behind 3-1 after a goal by Islanders Hockey Club's Nicholas McNally at 16:55 in the second period. Boch Blazers knotted things up at 4-4 on a goal by Joseph Fernandes at 19:46 in the third period.

Boch Blazers put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Islanders Hockey Club to score on any of its four power plays. Boch Blazers' offense rang up 31 shots on Islanders Hockey Club's net. Boch Blazers' defense let in more goals than it usually has this year. Boch Blazers gives up 1.5 goal per game.

Boch Blazers also got a goal from Kurtis Garcia as well. More assists for Boch Blazers came via Emilio Botelho, Cordeiro, and Patrick Hayes, who contributed one a piece.

Islanders Hockey Club made Boch Blazers' goalies to work hard to keep the puck out of the net, taking 40 shots and forcing 36 saves. Jake Ruby made 24 stops and Cody Stocker made 12. Islanders Hockey Club struggled to stay out of the sin bin throughout the game as it finished the game with 38 penalty minutes for eight opposing power plays.

Nikita Polishchuk also scored for Islanders Hockey Club. Other players who recorded assists for Islanders Hockey Club were RJ Tiorano, Montanye, and Eric Legere, who each chipped in one.

Boch Blazers incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. Kyle Hichens made 26 saves for Islanders Hockey Club on 30 shots.
