Junior Bruins uses shootout to best Bay State Breakers, 4-3 (1-0 SO)

Three periods of regulation and an overtime session were not enough to settle matters as Junior Bruins defeated Bay State Breakers in a shootout 4-3 (1-0 SO).

The two teams needed five turns to complete the shootout.

In the losing effort, Bay State Breakers was paced by Cameron Miglietta, who tallied two goals. Miglietta scored the first of his two goals at 9:36 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Bay State Breakers. Thomas Cahill provided the assist. Miglietta's next tally made the score 3-3 with 4:41 left in the third period. Bay State Breakers had taken the advantage when Junior Bruins' Tucker Falk got sent off for hooking. Cahill assisted on the tally.

Junior Bruins was led by Michael Centerbar, who finished with one goal. Centerbar scored 10:06 into the second period to make the score 2-2. James Blute picked up the assist.

Junior Bruins' offense rang up 33 shots on Bay State Breakers' net.

Junior Bruins also got a goal from Alex Duplessie as well. Other players who recorded assists for Junior Bruins were John Buchanan, Nicholas Miller, Luke Prendergast, Nicolas Ferretti, and Tyler Kirby, who each chipped in one.

Bay State Breakers stifled Junior Bruins' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Junior Bruins was unable to stop Bay State Breakers from sending pucks towards the net, and Bay State Breakers eventually piled up 35 shots on goal.

Sean Doherty also scored for Bay State Breakers. In addition, Bay State Breakers received assists from Eric Costa, who had one and Francis OBrien, who had three.

Benjamin Gagnon recorded 32 saves for Junior Bruins. Junior Bruins incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Bay State Breakers' Keith Inman stopped 29 shots out of the 32 that he faced. Bay State Breakers incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
