New York Apple Core squeaks by Jersey Wildcats, 3-2

New York Apple Core and Jersey Wildcats were evenly matched throughout their contest, but New York Apple Core made the most of its opportunities and won, 3-2.

New York Apple Core gained the winning advantage on a goal by Brian OSullivan 12:16 into the second period and hung on until final buzzer.

OSullivan had a great game for New York Apple Core, netting two goals.

New York Apple Core put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Jersey Wildcats to score on any of its three power plays. New York Apple Core forced Jersey Wildcats goalie Peter Andersson to work between the pipes, taking 32 shots.

New York Apple Core also got a goal from Travis Quigley as well. Other players who recorded assists for New York Apple Core were Andrew Cunningham, who had one and Joe Finneran, who had two.

Jersey Wildcats excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in three chances. New York Apple Core was unable to stop Jersey Wildcats from sending pucks towards the net, and Jersey Wildcats eventually piled up 37 shots on goal.

Jersey Wildcats was helped by Corey Carnahan, who registered one goal. Carnahan scored 9:05 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Jersey Wildcats. Ryan Demgard assisted on the tally. Matthew Horn also scored for Jersey Wildcats. More assists for Jersey Wildcats came via Kyle Davey, who had one.

Madison Martin rejected 35 shots on goal for New York Apple Core. New York Apple Core incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Andersson recorded 29 saves for Jersey Wildcats. Jersey Wildcats incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors.
