Jersey Wildcats outlasts New York Apple Core, 5-4

The game between Jersey Wildcats and New York Apple Core was tight through all 60 minutes, but in the end Jersey Wildcats emerged with a 5-4 win.

Neither team gained more than a two-goal lead, and Ryan Demgard's goal in the third period proved to be the difference maker.

Demgard had two goals and one assist to lead Jersey Wildcats. Demgard scored the first of his two goals at 2:48 into the second period to make the score 3-1 Jersey Wildcats. Cody Signorelli picked up the assist. Demgard's next tally made the score 5-4 Jersey Wildcats with 16:37 left in the third period. Corey Carnahan provided the assist.

Jersey Wildcats forced New York Apple Core's goaltenders to work all game long, taking 43 shots and forcing 38 saves. Dominic Lamanno made 16 stops and Madison Martin made 22. Jersey Wildcats excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in four chances.

Others who scored for Jersey Wildcats included Michael Matos, who had one and Alex Kempinski, who had two.

New York Apple Core kept Jersey Wildcats' goalie busy throughout the game, and Nathan Leo made 38 saves on 42 shots. Team's forwards weren't the only contributers offensively, and the team's defensemen showcased their scoring touch with two goals.

New York Apple Core was led by Kieran Hurley, who racked up one goal and one assist. Hurley scored 3:04 into the second period to make the score 3-2 Jersey Wildcats. James Delahanty picked up the assist. New York Apple Core additionally got points from Delahanty, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Dillon Radin also scored for New York Apple Core. Other players who recorded assists for New York Apple Core were Nikolas Boesenberg, Owen Stanton, and Daniel Diner, who contributed one a piece.

Jersey Wildcats incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. New York Apple Core incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors.
