Springfield Jr Pics wins tough contest against Brewster Bulldogs, 4-3

In a game where neither team could get a cushion, Springfield Jr Pics escaped with a 4-3 victory over Brewster Bulldogs.

Springfield Jr Pics gained the winning advantage on a goal by Tyler Reopel 10:30 into the second period and hung on until final buzzer.

Thane Schinabeck had two goals to lead Springfield Jr Pics to victory. Schinabeck's tallies came at 17:37 into the first period to make the score 2-1 Springfield Jr Pics and 20:52 into the second to make the score 4-2 Springfield Jr Pics.

Springfield Jr Pics put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Brewster Bulldogs to score on any of its four power plays.

Zachary Smith also scored for Springfield Jr Pics. More assists for Springfield Jr Pics came via Nicholas Halbach, Mike Esposito, Mike Tanski, and Robert Smith, who contributed one a piece.

Brewster Bulldogs excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in seven chances. Brewster Bulldogs forced Springfield Jr Pics goalie Evan Barghout to work between the pipes, taking 34 shots.

Brewster Bulldogs was helped by Gregory Hennings, who had one goal. Hennings scored 24:31 into the second period to make the score 4-3 Springfield Jr Pics. Ryan Lynagh assisted on the tally. Brewster Bulldogs additionally got points from Lynagh, who also tallied one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Brewster Bulldogs also got a goal from Gunnar Boeschl as well. In addition, Brewster Bulldogs received assists from Connor Bubolo and William Pappas, who each chipped in one.

Evan Barghout made 31 saves for Springfield Jr Pics on 34 shots. Springfield Jr Pics incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Matthew Rubenstein recorded 19 saves for Brewster Bulldogs. Brewster Bulldogs incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with nine minors.
