Martin stymies Jersey Wildcats, New York Apple Core wins 5-1

New York Apple Core relied on the sparkling performance of Madison Martin in net to grab a 5-1 win against Jersey Wildcats.

New York Apple Core pulled out the victory even though it was hit with 24 penalty minutes.

New York Apple Core was paced by Colton Schnall, who finished with one goal. Schnall scored 6:56 into the second period to make the score 2-1 New York Apple Core. Thomas McGovern picked up the assist.

New York Apple Core forced Jersey Wildcats goalie Peter Andersson to work between the pipes, taking 36 shots.

Andrew Cunningham also scored for New York Apple Core. In addition, New York Apple Core received assists from Dillon Radin and Michael Buffoleno, who each chipped in one.

Jersey Wildcats excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in eight chances. Jersey Wildcats could not produce up to it normal offensive output. Jersey Wildcats puts an average of 3.3 pucks into the net per game. Jersey Wildcats' offense rang up 44 shots on New York Apple Core's net.

Jersey Wildcats was led by Corey Carnahan, who scored the team's only goal. Carnahan scored on the power play 4:07 into the second period to make the score 1-1. Jersey Wildcats had taken the advantage when New York Apple Core's Radin got sent off for interference. Tommy Savino assisted on the tally.

Martin recorded 43 saves for New York Apple Core. Peter Andersson made 31 saves for Jersey Wildcats on 35 shots. Jersey Wildcats incurred 30 minutes in penalty time with 10 minors.
