Brewster Bulldogs outlasts New Hampshire Jr Monarchs, 4-2

Brewster Bulldogs gutted out a close 4-2 win against New Hampshire Jr Monarchs.

Neither team gained more than a two-goal lead, and Patrick McKiernan's goal in the second period proved to be the difference maker.

Brewster Bulldogs was led by McKiernan, who had one goal and one assist. McKiernan scored on the power play 4:21 into the second period to make the score 3-2 Brewster Bulldogs. Brewster Bulldogs had gained a power play chance when Matthew Robson was whistled for head contact. David Morgan picked up the assist.

New Hampshire Jr Monarchs was unable to stop Brewster Bulldogs from sending pucks towards the net, and Brewster Bulldogs eventually piled up 35 shots on goal. Brewster Bulldogs got an offensive boost from its blueliners, who contributed two goals during the game.

Brewster Bulldogs also got a goal from Connor Bubolo as well. In addition, Brewster Bulldogs received assists from Gunnar Boeschl, who had two.

New Hampshire Jr Monarchs forced Brewster Bulldogs goalie Matthew Rubenstein to work between the pipes, taking 31 shots.

New Hampshire Jr Monarchs was helped by Casey Marfongelli, who grabbed one goal. Marfongelli scored 24:32 into the first period to make the score 2-1 New Hampshire Jr Monarchs. Cam Allen provided the assist. Connor Stevens also scored for New Hampshire Jr Monarchs. More assists for New Hampshire Jr Monarchs came via Robert Savini, who had one.

Rubenstein recorded 29 saves for Brewster Bulldogs. Brewster Bulldogs incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. New Hampshire Jr Monarchs' Connor Marfongelli stopped 31 shots out of the 35 that he faced. New Hampshire Jr Monarchs incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
