Chumsae's big game bests Islanders Hockey Club in 6-3 Junior Bruins winNESC Rink 1 Wed, Dec 05, 2012 Story by Narrative Science.
Junior Bruins' Kyle Chumsae had a big offensive game, scoring one goal and contributing two assists in his team's 6-3 win over Islanders Hockey Club. Chumsae beat Alexander Scanlon with a shot 1:08 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Junior Bruins. Ryan Azar assisted on the tally. Chumsae dished an assist on Azar's goal that made the score 1-0 Junior Bruins at 56 seconds into the first period. He added another helper on Nicholas Miller's goal that made the score 6-1 Junior Bruins at 11:48 into the second period.Junior Bruins made Islanders Hockey Club's netminders to work hard to keep the puck out of the net, taking 37 shots and forcing 31 saves. Scanlon made 22 stops and Brendan Rhoads made nine. Junior Bruins excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in four chances. Junior Bruins additionally got points from Azar, who also finished with one goal and two assists and Miller, who also tallied one goal and one assist. John Buchanan also scored for Junior Bruins. More assists for Junior Bruins came via Jordan Hanahan, who had two and Jonathan Panarelli, Altan Atamer, Jake McKinnon, and Tyler Kirby, who each chipped in one. Islanders Hockey Club put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Junior Bruins to score on any of its four power plays. Benjamin Gagnon made 24 saves for Junior Bruins on 27 shots. Junior Bruins incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Islanders Hockey Club incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
