Frederick Freeze wins tough contest against Jersey Wildcats, 4-2

The game between Frederick Freeze and Jersey Wildcats was tight through all 60 minutes, but in the end Frederick Freeze emerged with a 4-2 win.

Each team kept the other at bay throughout the game, and Nathan Miller secured the win for Frederick Freeze with a goal in the third period.

Frederick Freeze's penalty kill excelled, as Frederick Freeze gave up zero goals despite allowing seven power plays.

Frederick Freeze was sparked by Miller, who registered one goal and one assist. Miller scored on the power play 3:55 into the third period to make the score 3-2 Frederick Freeze. Frederick Freeze had gotten the advantage when Jersey Wildcats' Christopher Butryn was sent off for tripping. Denzil Cotera assisted on the tally.

Frederick Freeze racked up the penalties in the contest, and ended with nine minors and one major for 23 minutes in penalty time. Frederick Freeze surpassed its season average of 17.0 penalty minutes per game. Frederick Freeze forced Jersey Wildcats' netminders to work hard to keep the puck out of the net, getting 35 shots and forcing 31 saves. Nathan Leo made 31 stops and Peter Andersson made zero. Frederick Freeze stifled Jersey Wildcats' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man.

Frederick Freeze additionally got points from Matthew Paris, who also grabbed one goal and two assists to lead the team in points and Cotera, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Frederick Freeze also got a goal from Taylor Powell as well. Other players who recorded assists for Frederick Freeze were Bradley Howington and Zachary McElroy, who each chipped in one.

Jersey Wildcats' offense rang up 49 shots on Frederick Freeze's net.

Jersey Wildcats was helped by Tommy Kemly, who finished with one goal. Kemly scored 6:44 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Jersey Wildcats. Corey Carnahan provided the assist. Jersey Wildcats also got points from Carnahan, who also racked up one goal and one assist. In addition, Jersey Wildcats received assists from Alex Kempinski, who had two.

Daniyal Hannan recorded 47 saves for Frederick Freeze. Frederick Freeze registered two goals on five power play opportunities. Jersey Wildcats incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with eight minors.
