Jersey Wildcats downs Frederick Freeze in overtime, 3-2 (OT)

Jersey Wildcats pulled out a 3-2 (OT) overtime victory over Frederick Freeze on a clutch goal by Matthew Sangalli.

Ryan Demgard had a great game for Jersey Wildcats, netting two goals. Demgard scored on the power play at 14:37 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Jersey Wildcats and again while 9:56 into the third to make the score 2-1 Jersey Wildcats.

Frederick Freeze's power play was ineffective against Jersey Wildcats' penalty kill, which allowed one goal while shorthanded.

The Jersey Wildcats penalty box was a popular destination as the team totaled six minors and two majors for 32 minutes in penalty time. The total exceeded the 15.0 minutes per game Jersey Wildcats had been spending in the box. Jersey Wildcats kept Frederick Freeze's goalie busy throughout the game, and John Ketzenberger made 39 saves on 42 shots. Jersey Wildcats capitalized on Frederick Freeze's penalties, netting two goals while skating with a man advantage.

Jersey Wildcats also got points from Sangalli, who also had one goal and two assists to lead the team in points. More assists for Jersey Wildcats came via Thomas Brennan, Kyle Davey, and Christopher Butryn, who each chipped in one.

Frederick Freeze's offense rang up 32 shots on Jersey Wildcats' net.

Frederick Freeze was helped by Zachary McElroy, who tallied one goal. McElroy scored 12:02 into the third period to make the score 2-2. Brian Donegan picked up the assist. Frederick Freeze also got a goal from Bradley Howington as well. Other players who recorded assists for Frederick Freeze were Matthew Paris and Michael Adams, who contributed one a piece.

Jersey Wildcats' Peter Andersson stopped 30 shots out of the 32 that he faced. Frederick Freeze ended with 21 minutes in penalty time with three minors and one major.
