Suffolk Juniors outlasts Frederick Freeze, 4-2Skate Frederick Sun, Oct 14, 2012 Story by Narrative Science.
The game between Suffolk Juniors and Frederick Freeze was tight through all 60 minutes, but in the end Suffolk Juniors emerged with a 4-2 win. No lead was more than two goals during the contest, and the winning goal was scored by Steven Azzara at 14:50 of the third period. Daniel Lore had a great game for Suffolk Juniors, netting two goals. Lore scored at 1:32 into the first period to make the score 1-1 and again while 2:43 into the first to make the score 2-1 Suffolk Juniors. Suffolk Juniors excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in four chances. Suffolk Juniors' offense rang up 44 shots on Frederick Freeze's net. Suffolk Juniors' penalty killing units received substantial work throughout the game as Suffolk Juniors finished with 24 penalty minutes. Casey OLeary also scored for Suffolk Juniors. In addition, Suffolk Juniors received assists from Michael Guidi, Ryan Maraldo, and Charles Peck, who each chipped in one. Frederick Freeze put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Suffolk Juniors to score on any of its five power plays. Frederick Freeze was led by Aaron Shiohama, who registered one goal and one assist. Shiohama scored 18:52 into the second period to make the score 2-2. Frederick Freeze also got a goal from Taylor Powell as well. Thomas DeRosa made 18 saves before being replaced by Eric Tatarian, who took the win and made six saves. Daniyal Hannan rejected 40 shots on goal for Frederick Freeze. Frederick Freeze incurred 28 minutes in penalty time with nine minors.
