Mass Maple Leafs hangs on, beats Jersey Wildcats 3-2

Sidney Thomas gave Mass Maple Leafs the lead in the first period, and Jersey Wildcats was never able to catch up in a close game that ended 3-2.

Thomas provided Mass Maple Leafs with the game-winning tally when he scored 10:39 into the the first period.

Mass Maple Leafs did not waste many scoring chances, needing only three shots to achieve its goal tally.

Mass Maple Leafs was led by Patrick Hayes, who registered one goal. Hayes scored on the power play 5:37 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Colin Cordeiro assisted on the tally.

Mass Maple Leafs excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in four chances. Mass Maple Leafs did not reach the goal total it has come to expect this season. Mass Maple Leafs averages 6.0 goals per game.

Trevor Berman also scored for Mass Maple Leafs. In addition, Mass Maple Leafs received assists from Adam McGrath, who had one.

Mass Maple Leafs' defense shut down Jersey Wildcats' forwards for much of the game, and Jersey Wildcats got off only two shots during the contest.

Jersey Wildcats was helped by Austin Gordon, who tallied one goal. Gordon scored short handed 15:49 into the second period to make the score 3-2 Mass Maple Leafs. Jersey Wildcats played down a man on Alex Kempinski's roughing. Jersey Wildcats also got a goal from Carmine Taffo as well. Other players who recorded assists for Jersey Wildcats were Max Galfus, who had one.

Mass Maple Leafs incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Jersey Wildcats incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
