Cunningham's goals lift New York Apple Core to 7-2 victory over Islanders Hockey Club

Andrew Cunningham was all over the ice for New York Apple Core, as he tallied two goals in New York Apple Core's 7-2 win over Islanders Hockey Club.

Cunningham's tallies came on the power play at 12:45 into the first period to make the score 2-0 New York Apple Core and 7:03 into the second to make the score 3-0 New York Apple Core.

New York Apple Core excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in four chances. New York Apple Core surpassed its usual scoring output this season. This season, New York Apple Core averages 4.1 goals per contest.

New York Apple Core additionally got points from Colton Schnall, who also finished with one goal and two assists, Travis Quigley, who also had one goal and two assists to lead the team in points, and Thomas McGovern, who also registered one goal and one assist. Dillon Radin also scored for New York Apple Core. In addition, New York Apple Core received assists from Vladimir Korotin, who had two and James Delahanty and Will Guido, who each chipped in one.

Penalties took their toll on Islanders Hockey Club, as its penalty kill unit let in three power play goals.

Islanders Hockey Club's Kyle Hichens stopped 22 shots out of the 29 that he faced. Islanders Hockey Club ended with 23 minutes in penalty time with four minors and one major. Islanders Hockey Club ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Derek Butler was ejected from the game.
