Huge game by Deres boosts Junior Bruins over Springfield Jr Pics, 10-1

Behind a great game by Corey Deres, who had four goals and one assist, Junior Bruins defeated Springfield Jr Pics, 10-1.

Deres got on the scoresheet 18:50 into the first period. He then added goals at 19:58 into the second, at 9:53 into the third, and at 10:13 into the third.

Referees had their hands full with a major incident at 2:57 into the second period. Five fighting penalties were dished out along with three game misconducts.

Junior Bruins racked up the penalties in the contest, and ended with nine minors and one major for 33 minutes in penalty time. Junior Bruins surpassed its season average of 20.0 penalty minutes per game. Junior Bruins excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in five chances. Junior Bruins kept Springfield Jr Pics' goalie busy throughout the game, and Steve Esposito made 40 saves on 50 shots. Junior Bruins' goal total was higher than its season average.
