Fernandes' big game bests Jersey Wildcats in 6-2 Mass Maple Leafs winNESC Rink 5 Sun, Sep 23, 2012 Story by Narrative Science.
Joseph Fernandes had two goals and two assists to lead Mass Maple Leafs to a 6-2 victory over Jersey Wildcats. Fernandes found the back of the net 19:36 into the second period to make the score 5-2 Mass Maple Leafs and again while 20:29 into the second to make the score 6-2 Mass Maple Leafs.Mass Maple Leafs put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Jersey Wildcats to score on any of its three power plays. Mass Maple Leafs also got points from Colin Cordeiro, who also had one goal and two assists, Adam McGrath, who also registered one goal and one assist, and Patrick Hayes, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Kurtis Garcia also scored for Mass Maple Leafs. In addition, Mass Maple Leafs received assists from Edward Botelho, who had one and Nico Bortman, who had two. Jersey Wildcats was led by Ryan Demgard, who grabbed one goal. Demgard scored 15:02 into the second period to make the score 4-2 Mass Maple Leafs. Martin Rovnak picked up the assist. Jersey Wildcats also got a goal from Joseph Curto as well. Mass Maple Leafs incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Jersey Wildcats incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with two minors.
