Deres lifts Junior Bruins over Frederick Freeze, 10-3

Behind a great game by Corey Deres, who had four goals, Junior Bruins defeated Frederick Freeze, 10-3.

Deres' first goal came 15:12 into the first period. He then added goals at 20:53 into the first, at 19:55 into the second, and at 24:11 into the second.

Junior Bruins stifled Frederick Freeze's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Junior Bruins bested its season scoring average. Junior Bruins averages 6.0 goals per game. Junior Bruins struggled to stay out of the sin bin throughout the game as it finished the game with 24 penalty minutes for four opposing power plays.

Junior Bruins additionally got points from Nicholas Capalbo, who also grabbed one goal and one assist and Cayden Bengtson, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Junior Bruins also had goals scored by Kyle Chumsae, who had two and Michael Centerbar and Nicolas Ferretti, who each put in one. Other players who recorded assists for Junior Bruins were Zachery Masotta, who had two, Tucker Falk, who had three, Ryan Azar, who had five, and John Buchanan, Jordan Hanahan, Ryan Burg, and Dommichael Piccini, who contributed one a piece.

Frederick Freeze put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Junior Bruins to score on any of its three power plays.

Frederick Freeze was helped by Nathan Miller, who tallied one goal. Miller scored 7:44 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Frederick Freeze. Nathan Hefner picked up the assist. Frederick Freeze also got a goal from Brian Donegan as well. More assists for Frederick Freeze came via Michael Adams, Ben Margolis, and Anthony Palermino, who contributed one a piece.

Frederick Freeze incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
