Jersey Wildcats outlasts Bay State Breakers, 3-2

Jersey Wildcats gutted out a close 3-2 win against Bay State Breakers.

Each team kept the other at bay throughout the game, and Alex Kempinski secured the win for Jersey Wildcats with a goal in the second period.

Austin Gordon had two goals to lead Jersey Wildcats to victory. Gordon scored at 23:19 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Jersey Wildcats and again while on the power play 16:16 into the second to make the score 2-2.

In addition, Jersey Wildcats received assists from Nicholas Hermann, who had two and Kyle Davey and Corey Carnahan, who each chipped in one.

Bay State Breakers was helped by Jacob Leppo, who grabbed one goal. Leppo scored 24:57 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Thomas Cahill assisted on the tally. Bay State Breakers also got a goal from George McCafferty as well. More assists for Bay State Breakers came via Francis OBrien and Cameron MacDonald, who contributed one a piece.

Peter Andersson made 16 saves for Jersey Wildcats on 18 shots. Jersey Wildcats incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Kirby Saari recorded 24 saves for Bay State Breakers. Bay State Breakers totaled 25 minutes in penalty time with five minors and one major and went 1-for-3 on the power play.
