Palmer leads Springfield Jr Pics over New Hampshire Jr Monarchs, 7-2

Springfield Jr Pics' Steven Palmer had a big offensive game, scoring two goals and contributing two assists in his team's 7-2 win over New Hampshire Jr Monarchs.

Palmer scored on the power play at 5:36 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Springfield Jr Pics and again while 10:30 into the first to make the score 3-0 Springfield Jr Pics.

Springfield Jr Pics pulled out the victory even though it was hit with 41 penalty minutes.

Springfield Jr Pics made New Hampshire Jr Monarchs' goaltenders to work hard to keep the puck out of the net, ripping 35 shots and forcing 28 saves. James McCoy made 13 stops and Connor Marfongelli made 15.

Springfield Jr Pics also got points from Zachary Smith, who also finished with one goal and one assist and Christopher Breault, who also had two goals and one assist. Springfield Jr Pics also got a goal from Mike Esposito as well. In addition, Springfield Jr Pics received assists from Nicholas Halbach, Mitch Morin, Tyler Reopel, and Ben McKenna, who each chipped in one.

New Hampshire Jr Monarchs forced its penalty killing units to work especially hard during the game, picking up 12 minors and one major for 39 minutes in penalty time. New Hampshire Jr Monarchs had been averaging 25.0 minutes in penalties per game. New Hampshire Jr Monarchs kept Springfield Jr Pics' goalie busy throughout the game, and Steve Esposito made 32 saves on 34 shots. New Hampshire Jr Monarchs' defensemen played an important role in the offense, chipping in two goals.

New Hampshire Jr Monarchs was led by Harry ODonoghue, who grabbed one goal. ODonoghue scored on the power play 11:46 into the first period to make the score 3-1 Springfield Jr Pics. New Hampshire Jr Monarchs had taken the advantage when Springfield Jr Pics' Breault got sent off for roughing. Jason Dicey assisted on the tally. Eric Rackett also scored for New Hampshire Jr Monarchs. More assists for New Hampshire Jr Monarchs came via Nolan Dow, who had one.

Springfield Jr Pics registered three goals on six power play opportunities. For Springfield Jr Pics, Halbach was ejected from the game. New Hampshire Jr Monarchs registered one goal on seven power play opportunities. New Hampshire Jr Monarchs ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Connor Stevens was ejected from the game.
