Jersey Hitmen vanquishes Jersey Wildcats in shootout, 2-1 (2-0 SO)

Three periods of regulation and an overtime session were not enough to settle matters as Jersey Hitmen defeated Jersey Wildcats in a shootout 2-1 (2-0 SO).

The two teams needed five turns to complete the shootout. In addition to the clincher, Jersey Hitmen got a shootout goal from Andrew Callahan.

Jersey Wildcats was stymied by Jersey Hitmen netminder Jordan Hulahan, who stopped 29 shots during the victory. Hulahan managed to improve on his goals against average, which stood at 1.86 prior to the game.

Jersey Hitmen's offense operated below it season average. Jersey Hitmen averages 4.3 goals per game. Jersey Hitmen kept Jersey Wildcats' goalie busy throughout the game, and Peter Andersson made 62 saves on 64 shots.

Jersey Hitmen was led by Ruslan Rakhmatov, who grabbed one goal. Rakhmatov scored 3:05 into the third period to make the score 1-0 Jersey Hitmen. David Kleyman assisted on the tally. In addition, Jersey Hitmen received assists from Nazhir Gichibekov, who had one.

Jersey Wildcats stifled Jersey Hitmen's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Jersey Wildcats could not produce up to it normal offensive output. Jersey Wildcats puts an average of 3.2 pucks into the net per game.

Jersey Wildcats was led by Zachary Chamberlain, who scored the team's only goal. Chamberlain scored on the power play 12:14 into the third period to make the score 1-1. A roughing penalty on Rakhmatov had put Jersey Wildcats on the power play. Erik Andersson picked up the assist.

Jersey Hitmen incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Jersey Wildcats incurred 20 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
