Suffolk rips Buffalo, 5-2

The Buffalo Stars had trouble finding ways to stop the Suffolk Juniors, which beat Stars, 5-2.

Christopher Seeback was all over the ice for Suffolk, as he finished with two goals in the win. Seeback's tallies came at 4:58 into the second period to make the score 3-1 Suffolk and 19:16 into the third to make the score 5-2 Suffolk.

The Juniors pulled out the victory even though they were hit with 16 penalty minutes.

Suffolk stifled Buffalo's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Juniors' offense rang up 48 shots on the Stars' net.

Suffolk additionally got points from Michael Leone, who also registered one goal and one assist and Matthew Gault, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. Evan Schwartz also scored for Suffolk. More assists for Suffolk came via Joseph Duszak, who had three and Nicholas Mangone and Jason Reiter, who contributed one a piece.

Buffalo put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Suffolk to score on any of its three power plays.

The Stars were helped by Leo Blore, who had one goal. Blore scored 2:29 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Suffolk. Blake Germony provided the assist. Buffalo also got a goal from Michael Harris as well. In addition, Buffalo received assists from Patrick Schmelzinger, who had one.

Daniel Potter made 22 saves for the Juniors on 24 shots. Lawson Fenton rejected 43 shots on goal for Buffalo. The Stars incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
