Junior Bruins squeaks by Islanders, 6-5

The game between Junior Bruins and Islanders was tight through all 60 minutes, but in the end Junior Bruins emerged with a 6-5 win.

Junior Bruins gained the winning advantage on a goal by Alexander Pantalone 11:46 into the third period and hung on until final buzzer.

Junior Bruins got the win thanks to a great game by Ryan OToole, who had two goals and two assists. OToole scored the first of his two goals on the power play at 10:21 into the first period to make the score 2-1 Junior Bruins. Junior Bruins had gained a power play chance when Andrew Newis was whistled for hooking. Kyle Webb provided the assist. OToole's next tally on the power play made the score 4-4 with 1:28 left in the second period. Junior Bruins had gotten the advantage when Islanders' RJ Tiorano was sent off for boarding. Webb picked up the assist.

Junior Bruins' normally stingy defense allowed more goals than usual. Junior Bruins averages 2.1 goals allowed per game.

Junior Bruins additionally got points from Pantalone, who also registered one goal and one assist. Junior Bruins also got a goal from Kyle Carlson as well. More assists for Junior Bruins came via Michael Kantorski, who had two and Bryan Carter, Brian Fahey, Zachary Byczko, and Kyle Griffin, who each chipped in one.

Islanders forced Junior Bruins goalie Maxwell Barr to work between the pipes, taking 35 shots.

Islanders was helped by Keith Barnaby, who racked up one goal and two assists. Barnaby scored on the power play 7:40 into the third period to make the score 5-5. Islanders earned a power play opportunity when Thomas Fahey was put in the box for high sticking. Christopher Maksut provided the assist. Islanders also got points from Jonathan Pate, who also had one goal and two assists. Kirill Frolov also scored for Islanders. Other players who recorded assists for Islanders were David Wilcox, who had one.

Barr rejected 30 shots on goal for Junior Bruins. Junior Bruins incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. Michael Kitts recorded 23 saves for Islanders. Islanders incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
