Tampa Bay downs Palm Beach, 6-2

Ed Kawczak tallied two points to lead the Tampa Bay Juniors to a 6-2 victory over the Palm Beach Hawks.

Tampa Bay made Palm Beach's netminders to work between the pipes, launching 39 shots and forcing 33 saves. Adam Silverstein made eight stops and David Kutnar made 25. The Juniors got an offensive boost from their blueliners, who contributed two goals during the game.

Tampa Bay also got points from Jesse Bafia, who also finished with one goal and one assist. Tampa Bay also got a goal from Dylan Longo as well. Other players who recorded assists for Tampa Bay were Ryan Odgers, who had two and Brent Barber, Brett Vargas, and Brendan Nicholson, who contributed one a piece.

The Hawks forced their penalty killing units to work especially hard during the game, picking up seven minors and one major for 29 minutes in penalty time. Palm Beach had been averaging 15.0 minutes in penalties per game. The Hawks' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on seven Tampa Bay power plays.

Palm Beach was led by JJ Augusta, who had one goal. Augusta scored 15:14 into the third period to make the score 6-2 Tampa Bay. Stephen Sundberg provided the assist. Brett Yochum also scored for Palm Beach. In addition, Palm Beach received assists from Marshall Edmondson, Shane Visnick, and Tristan Lamontagne, who each chipped in one.

Emil Eriksson rejected 13 shots on goal for Tampa Bay. The Juniors incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. The Hawks registered one goal on three power play opportunities. For Palm Beach, Michael Visnick was ejected from the game.
