Maksymum holds on for 4-3 win against Islanders

Islanders tried its best to erase a two-goal deficit, but the Maksymum Junior Hockey (Rochester) would not be denied the victory and hung on to win, 4-3.

Maksymum made the score 4-2 on a goal by Mikel Williams at 9:58 in the third period, and Islanders got as close as 4-3 when Christopher Maksut scored 10:26 into the third period.

The Junior Hockey (Rochester) were sparked by Williams, who registered one goal.

Maksymum forced Islanders goalie Brenden Tidman to work between the pipes, taking 48 shots.

Maksymum also got points from William Holbrook, who also had one goal and one assist and Holvey, who also racked up one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Maksymum also got a goal from Tanner Woodruff as well. In addition, Maksymum received assists from Kevin Geeza, Daniel Goldstein, Michael Whitehair, Corey Sherman, and Kevin DiMagno, who each chipped in one.

The Junior Hockey (Rochester) were unable to stop Islanders from sending pucks towards the net, and Islanders eventually piled up 31 shots on goal.

Islanders was helped by Daniel Giffone, who tallied one goal. Giffone scored on the power play 15:09 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Islanders. Islanders had gained a power play chance when Holvey was whistled for tripping. Jonathan Pate provided the assist. Islanders additionally got points from Christopher Gravelle, who also registered one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. More assists for Islanders came via Joshua Vernot and David Wilcox, who contributed one a piece.

Ian Sylves rejected 28 shots on goal for Maksymum. The Junior Hockey (Rochester) incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with eight minors. Tidman recorded 44 saves for Islanders. Islanders incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with eight minors.
