The Hawks pulled out the victory even though they were hit with 18 penalty minutes.

James Leicht also scored for Palm Beach. Other players who recorded assists for Palm Beach were JJ Augusta, who had one and Shane Visnick, who had two.

Tampa Bay forced its penalty killing units to work especially hard during the game, picking up seven minors and one major for 29 minutes in penalty time. The Juniors had been averaging 14.0 minutes in penalties per game. Tampa Bay did not reach the goal total it has come to expect this season. The Juniors average 4.7 goals per game. Tampa Bay was led by Brendan Nicholson, who scored the team's only goal. Nicholson scored 7:21 into the second period to make the score 1-1.

The Hawks registered two goals on seven power play opportunities. The Juniors' Emil Eriksson stopped 24 shots out of the 26 that he faced.
