Huge game by Daniels boosts Florida Eels over Palm Beach, 6-2

Patrick Daniels was all over the ice for Florida Eels, as he tallied two goals and one assist in Florida Eels' 6-2 win over the Palm Beach Hawks.

Daniels' tallies came on the power play at 2:10 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Florida Eels and 3:43 into the second to make the score 2-0 Florida Eels.

Palm Beach's power play was ineffective against Florida Eels' penalty kill, which allowed zero goals while shorthanded.

The Florida Eels penalty box was a popular destination as the team totaled eight minors and one major for 41 minutes in penalty time. Florida Eels surpassed its season average of 16.0 penalty minutes per game. Florida Eels' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on eight Palm Beach power plays. The defensemen of Florida Eels were also effective in the Hawks' zone, and came away with two goals.

Florida Eels also got points from Joshua DeLezenne, who also tallied one goal and one assist and Jonathan Carlson, who also had one goal and one assist. Brian Dennerlein also scored for Florida Eels. In addition, Florida Eels received assists from Stephen Bourque, who had one and Reid Halabi, who had two.

Palm Beach racked up the penalties in the contest, and ended with nine minors and one major for 53 minutes in penalty time. The total exceeded the 15.0 minutes per game the Hawks had been spending in the box. Palm Beach kept Florida Eels' goalie busy throughout the game, and Marc Terriault made 38 saves on 40 shots.

The Hawks were led by Kyle Kohlhorst, who registered one goal. Kohlhorst scored 9:21 into the third period to make the score 4-2 Florida Eels. Joseph Lambert assisted on the tally. Palm Beach also got a goal from Marshall Edmondson as well. More assists for Palm Beach came via Anthony Lerette and Nick Noback, who contributed one a piece.

Florida Eels registered two goals on seven power play opportunities. Palm Beach's Stephen Sundberg stopped 21 shots out of the 27 that he faced. The Hawks ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Brett Yochum was ejected from the game.
