Michal Marcinek recorded a shutout against the Suffolk Juniors as the Frederick Freeze picked up a 5-0 win. Frederick's penalty kill excelled, as the Freeze gave up zero goals despite allowing seven power plays. Frederick stifled Suffolk's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Juniors were unable to stop the Freeze from sending pucks towards the net, and Frederick eventually piled up 41 shots on goal. The Freeze's penalty killing units received substantial work throughout the game as Frederick finished with 20 penalty minutes. The Freeze were helped by Michael Shearer, who grabbed one goal. Shearer scored 8:35 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Frederick. Zachary Pard provided the assist. Others who scored for Frederick included Richard Novodomec, who had two and James Dorrian and Florian Cotera, who each put in one. In addition, Frederick received assists from Logan Coomes, who had two and Ryley Harper, Reid Bibb, Adam Gnatowski, Nicholas Price, Ian Soifer, and Adam Taylor, who each chipped in one. Suffolk did not reach the goal total it has come to expect this season. The Juniors average 3.0 goals per game. Suffolk forced Frederick goalie Marcinek to work between the pipes, taking 31 shots. The Juniors could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 36 minutes in penalties during the game. Michal Marcinek made 31 saves for the Freeze on 31 shots. Frederick registered one goal on eight power play opportunities. Peter Fosso rejected 36 shots on goal for Suffolk. For the Juniors, Joe Walsh was ejected from the game.
