Sherding's goals lift Brewster to 6-2 victory over Jersey WildcatsAspen Ice at Randolph Sun, Feb 10, 2013 Story by Narrative Science.
Behind a great game by Francesco Sherding, who had two goals, the Brewster Bulldogs defeated Jersey Wildcats, 6-2. Sherding scored on the power play at 13:28 into the first period to make the score 1-1 and again while 11:19 into the second to make the score 4-2 Brewster.Brewster forced Jersey Wildcats' goaltenders to work between the pipes, launching 49 shots and forcing 43 saves. Gennaro Anzevino made 24 stops and Grant Perry made 19. The Bulldogs' goal total was higher than their season average. Brewster averages 3.4 goals per game. The defensemen of the Bulldogs were also effective in Jersey Wildcats' zone, and came away with three goals. Brewster also got points from Sean Henderson, who also grabbed one goal and one assist and Brad Alexander, who also registered one goal and three assists to lead the team in points. Kevin McGee also scored for Brewster. In addition, Brewster received assists from Thomas Kirincic, David Rubenstein, Umbra, and Robert VanRaamsdonk, who contributed one a piece. Brewster was unable to stop Jersey Wildcats from sending pucks towards the net, and Jersey Wildcats eventually piled up 43 shots on goal. Jersey Wildcats was helped by Alexander Wizna, who racked up one goal. Wizna scored on the power play 8:54 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Jersey Wildcats. Jersey Wildcats earned a power play opportunity when McGee was put in the box for boarding. Erik Andersson picked up the assist. Jersey Wildcats also got a goal from Jack Green as well. More assists for Jersey Wildcats came via Brandon Crawley and Cory DeCosta, who each chipped in one. The Bulldogs' Brandon Belz stopped 41 shots out of the 43 that he faced. Brewster incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Jersey Wildcats incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
