Syracuse beats Buffalo 4-2 as Angello gets hat trick

Anthony Angello netted a hat trick to lead the Syracuse Junior Stars over the Buffalo Stars, 4-2.

Angello's first goal came 8:08 into the first period. He then added goals at 4:41 into the second and at 19:36 into the third.

Syracuse's offense rang up 68 shots on Buffalo's net.

Nate Zweig also scored for Syracuse. More assists for Syracuse came via Alex Taylor, Tyler OMara, Logan Warren, Mike Seifert, Jesse Farabee, Nate Skidmore, and Garth Gray, who each chipped in one.

The Stars excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in three chances.

Buffalo was helped by Cam Turner, who racked up one goal. Turner scored on the power play 11:13 into the first period to make the score 1-1. The Stars had gotten the advantage when the Junior Stars' Tom Nicholson was sent off for interference. Angelo Sarro provided the assist. Buffalo also got a goal from Nicholas Ciavarella as well. In addition, Buffalo received assists from Kyler Johnson, Anthony Avarello, and Blake Germony, who contributed one a piece.

Skidmore rejected 22 shots on goal for Syracuse. The Junior Stars incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Thomas Brown recorded 64 saves for Buffalo. The Stars incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
