Islanders rolls over Valley, 4-1

Islanders had a two-goal lead after two periods and cruised the rest of the way en route to a 4-1 win over the Valley Junior Warriors.
Islanders was paced by William Platt, who had one goal and one assist. Platt scored on the power play 19:32 into the first period to make the score 2-1 Islanders. A hooking penalty on Luke Miller had put Islanders on the power play. Jonathan Pate picked up the assist.
Islanders' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on four Valley power plays. Islanders could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 24 minutes in penalties during the game.
Islanders also got points from Pate, who also finished with two goals and one assist to lead the team in points and Daniel Giffone, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Other players who recorded assists for Islanders were Christopher Maksut, who had two and Kirill Frolov, Justin Fisher, and Thomas Missert, who contributed one a piece.
Valley did not reach the goal total it has come to expect this season. The Junior Warriors put an average of 3.5 pucks into the net per game. Valley was forced to rely heavily on their penalty kill unit throughout the game, as it racked up 32 penalty minutes.
Michael Kitts made 24 saves for Islanders on 25 shots. Islanders registered three goals on eight power play opportunities. Matthew Saraceno rejected 25 shots on goal for Valley.
