Boston Bandits survives Springfield comeback, wins 5-3

The Springfield Pics tried to dig themselves out of a three-goal hole, but Boston Bandits held on for a 5-3 victory.

Boston Bandits took a 5-2 lead during the third period, only to have Springfield storm back on a Riley Green goal 19:50 into the third period to pull to two goals down.

Boston Bandits forced the Pics goalie Randall Smith to work between the pipes, taking 61 shots.

Boston Bandits was led by Brandon Seal, who had three goals and one assist. Boston Bandits also got points from Erik Hajdu, who also finished with one goal and one assist. Boston Bandits also got a goal from Thomas Daniels as well. Other players who recorded assists for Boston Bandits were Raymond Wilson, who had one and Michael Taormina, who had four.

Springfield stifled Boston Bandits' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Pics' offense rang up 31 shots on Boston Bandits' net.

Springfield additionally got points from Nicholas Sibilia, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. Logan Schinabeck also scored for Springfield. More assists for Springfield came via Jeremy Wich, who had two and William Carrabino, Joe Mercadante, and Mario Fontanella, who each chipped in one.

Boston Bandits' Ryan McCarthy stopped 28 shots out of the 31 that he faced. Boston Bandits incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Randall Smith made 56 saves for Springfield on 61 shots. The Pics incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
