Frederick rolls over Suffolk, 5-2The Rinx Sat, Mar 02, 2013 Story by Narrative Science.
The Frederick Freeze had a two-goal lead after two periods and cruised the rest of the way en route to a 5-2 win over the Suffolk Juniors. Frederick got the win thanks to a great game by Reid Bibb, who had two goals and one assist. Bibb scored the first of his two goals at 14:53 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Frederick. Bibb's next tally made the score 2-0 Frederick with 15:07 left in the second period. Logan Coomes picked up the assist. Suffolk was unable to stop the Freeze from sending pucks towards the net, and Frederick eventually piled up 40 shots on goal. The Freeze could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 30 minutes in penalties during the game. Frederick additionally got points from Zachary Pard, who also had one goal and one assist, Adam Taylor, who also registered one goal and one assist, and Coomes, who also had one goal and one assist. Other players who recorded assists for Frederick were Eric Gausseres and Richard Novodomec, who contributed one a piece. The Juniors' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on four Frederick power plays. Suffolk was helped by Jason Reiter, who racked up one goal. Reiter scored on the power play 18:28 into the second period to make the score 3-1 Frederick. A slashing penalty on James Dorrian had put the Juniors on the power play. Michael Leone provided the assist. Michael Gilroy also scored for Suffolk. In addition, Suffolk received assists from Nicholas Ambery, who had one. Michal Marcinek made 25 saves for Frederick on 27 shots. Daniel Potter rejected 35 shots on goal for Suffolk. The Juniors incurred 20 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
