Atlanta penalty kill dominates in 4-1 defeat of Potomac

Despite having to fight off several power plays, the Atlanta Knights were able to defeat the Potomac Patriots, 4-1.

Atlanta was led by Patrick MacDonald, who tallied one goal and one assist. MacDonald scored on the power play 6:26 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Atlanta. The Knights had gotten the advantage when Potomac's Matthew Reynolds was sent off for roughing. Cole Stallard provided the assist.

The Patriots were unable to stop Atlanta from sending pucks towards the net, and the Knights eventually piled up 32 shots on goal.

Atlanta additionally got points from Stallard, who also had one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Atlanta also got a goal from Austin Ventura as well. Other players who recorded assists for Atlanta were Rick Fiorillo, Se Kim, Matthew Benz, Cale Massa, and Nick Elliott, who each chipped in one.

Potomac was led by Jeffrey Egan, who scored the team's only goal. Egan scored on the power play 8:37 into the first period to make the score 2-1 Atlanta. An interference penalty on Elliott had put the Patriots on the power play. Miles Miller assisted on the tally.

Sean Davis recorded 14 saves for Atlanta. The Knights incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with eight minors. Patrick Anderson made 28 saves for Potomac on 32 shots. The Patriots incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors.
