The Hampton Roads Whalers tried to dig themselves out of a two-goal hole, but the East Coast Eagles held on for a 5-4 victory. East Coast made the score 3-1 on a goal by Jacob Weldon at 19:25 in the second period, and Hampton Roads got as close as 3-2 when Samuel Jenkins scored 32 seconds into the third period. The Eagles kept the Whalers' goalie busy throughout the game, and Taylor Brost made 55 saves on 60 shots. East Coast found itself short handed often, totaling 21 penalty minutes and allowing eight power plays. East Coast additionally got points from Graff Richards, who also tallied one goal and two assists. East Coast also got a goal from Kyle Levere as well. In addition, East Coast received assists from Shane Selan and Thomas Gilmartin, who each chipped in one and John Ryan, Todd Jackson, and Collin Duffy, who contributed two a piece. The Eagles were unable to stop Hampton Roads from sending pucks towards the net, and the Whalers eventually piled up 40 shots on goal.
