Burch stymies Jersey Hitmen, Philadelphia wins 2-1

The Philadelphia Revolution relied on the sparkling performance of Jared Burch in net to grab a 2-1 win against Jersey Hitmen.

Philadelphia was sparked by Zachary England, who racked up one goal. England scored 9:53 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Philadelphia. Travis Kauffman assisted on the tally.

The Revolution put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Jersey Hitmen to score on any of its four power plays. Philadelphia could not produce up to it normal offensive output. The Revolution average 4.8 goals per game. Jersey Hitmen was unable to stop Philadelphia from sending pucks towards the net, and the Revolution eventually piled up 44 shots on goal.

Philadelphia also got a goal from Alex Dyer as well. In addition, Philadelphia received assists from Connor Bechtel and Ethan Weiss, who contributed one a piece.

Jersey Hitmen was held below its usual level of production. Jersey Hitmen puts an average of 4.2 pucks into the net per game. Jersey Hitmen's offense rang up 32 shots on Philadelphia's net.

Jersey Hitmen was led by Brendan Riley, who scored the team's only goal. Riley scored 4:27 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Jersey Hitmen. Rory Garlasco picked up the assist.

The Revolution's Burch stopped 31 shots out of the 32 that he faced. Philadelphia incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Michael OMaley rejected 42 shots on goal for Jersey Hitmen. Jersey Hitmen incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors.
