Maksymum takes care of Buffalo early, wins 8-1

The Buffalo Stars fell behind early, and the Maksymum Junior Hockey (Rochester) kept piling on the points on the way to an 8-1 victory.

Maksymum was led by Seth Giles, who registered one goal and one assist. Giles scored 10:59 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Maksymum. Kevin DiMagno picked up the assist.

The Junior Hockey (Rochester)'s penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on four Buffalo power plays. Maksymum kept Buffalo's goalie busy throughout the game, and Lawson Fenton made 70 saves on 78 shots. The Junior Hockey (Rochester) outdid their season average for goals scored. Maksymum averages 3.9 goals per game.

Maksymum also got points from Justus Nowak, who also finished with two goals and one assist, Corey Sherman, who also tallied one goal and one assist, William Holbrook, who also racked up two goals and one assist, and DiMagno, who also grabbed one goal and three assists to lead the team in points. Mikel Williams also scored for Maksymum. In addition, Maksymum received assists from Kevin Geeza, Daniel Goldstein, Christopher Molnar, Kyle Gannon, and Holvey, who contributed one a piece and Joseph Snook and Thomas Grammatico, who each chipped in two.

The Junior Hockey (Rochester)'s starting goalie, Ryan Morey, made 10 saves and finished with the win before he was taken out in favor of Jake Bryniarski, who stopped eight shots. Maksymum incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. The Stars incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors.
