Adirondack completes comeback, beats Syracuse, 4-3

Undaunted by a two-goal deficit, the Adirondack Junior Wings battled back to claim a 4-3 victory over the Syracuse Junior Stars.

Adirondack let multiple leads slip away before eventually digging out of a two hole to pick up the win. The Junior Wings took a 1-0 advantage on a goal by Sean Phillips at 8:39 in the second period. Adirondack found itself down 3-1 after Syracuse's Nate Zweig put the puck home at 12:39 in the second period. After evening things up at 3-3 on a goal by Sam Vincent at 18:00 in the second, the Junior Wings got the game-winner from Cam Shepardson at 1:49 in the third period.

Adirondack was led by Shepardson, who had one goal.

The Junior Wings excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in four chances.

Adirondack additionally got points from Vincent, who also grabbed one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Matt Flynn also scored for Adirondack. Other players who recorded assists for Adirondack were Ryan Flynn, Andrew Bourdeau, Matt State, Dustin Lavalley, Brian Daury, and Andrew Mundweiler, who contributed one a piece.

The Junior Stars kept Adirondack's goalie busy throughout the game, and Chet Tooker made 28 saves on 31 shots.

Syracuse also got a goal from Tom Nicholson as well. In addition, Syracuse received assists from Matt Madden, Logan Warren, and Jesse Farabee, who each chipped in one.

The Junior Wings incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Nate Skidmore made 25 saves for Syracuse on 29 shots. The Junior Stars incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
