Jersey Hitmen blows out Buffalo, 6-1

The Buffalo Stars had trouble finding ways to stop Jersey Hitmen, which beat Stars, 6-1.

Jersey Hitmen was sparked by Cody Calcagno, who tallied one goal and one assist. Calcagno scored 14:11 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Jersey Hitmen. Luke Rodgers provided the assist.

Jersey Hitmen's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on four Buffalo power plays. Buffalo was unable to stop Jersey Hitmen from sending pucks towards the net, and Jersey Hitmen eventually piled up 41 shots on goal.

Jersey Hitmen additionally got points from Rodgers, who also registered one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Jersey Hitmen also got a goal from Chris Peterson as well. Other players who recorded assists for Jersey Hitmen were James Martello, who had two and Cory Sala, Eddie Coxe, Corey Leskanic, James Felice, Andrew Callahan, and Ruslan Rakhmatov, who each chipped in one.

The Stars were led by Patrick Schmelzinger, who scored the team's only goal. Schmelzinger scored 6:56 into the second period to make the score 1-1. Tyler States picked up the assist.

Michael OMaley made 15 saves for Jersey Hitmen on 16 shots. Jersey Hitmen incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Buffalo's Thomas Brown stopped 35 shots out of the 41 that he faced. The Stars incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors.
