Tracy nets hat trick, leads New Hampshire to 7-2 win over Portland

A hat trick by Shane Tracy was the highlight in Jr Monarchs' 7-2 win against the Portland Jr Pirates.

Tracy's first goal came 11:31 into the first period. He then added goals at 12:04 into the first and at 19:58 into the second.

The New Hampshire Jr Monarchs' penalty kill excelled, as New Hampshire gave up one goal despite allowing seven power plays.

The Jr Monarchs forced Portland goalie Tyler Tracy to work between the pipes, taking 64 shots. New Hampshire took advantage of the Jr Pirates' penalties, tallying two goals off of three power play opportunities. The Jr Monarchs could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 26 minutes in penalties during the game.

New Hampshire additionally got points from Connor Merrick, who also registered one goal and one assist, Ross Mandigo, who also tallied one goal and one assist, and Brent Beaudoin, who also had one goal and two assists to lead the team in points. New Hampshire also got a goal from Nate Philbrick as well. In addition, New Hampshire received assists from Ty Anderson, who had two and Nicholas McNally, Brian Greene, Nate OBrien, James Jamieson, and Brett Boyer, who each chipped in one.

Portland's offense rang up 34 shots on New Hampshire's net.

The Jr Pirates were helped by Liam Slyne, who tallied one goal. Slyne scored on the power play 14:36 into the second period to make the score 4-2 New Hampshire. A tripping penalty on Anderson had put Portland on the power play. xx Downing provided the assist. xx Keene also scored for Portland. Other players who recorded assists for Portland were B Fleurent, who had one and N Bergeron, who had two.

Cole Burack recorded 32 saves for the Jr Monarchs. Tyler Tracy made 57 saves for the Jr Pirates on 64 shots. Portland incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with four minors.
