Maksymum survives New Hampshire comeback, wins 4-3

The Maksymum Junior Hockey (Rochester) survived a determined comeback attempt by the New Hampshire Jr Monarchs on the way to a 4-3 win.

A goal by Kevin DiMagno put Maksymum up 3-1 in the third period, but New Hampshire pulled to within one on Shane Tracy's tally 9:11 into the third period.

DiMagno had a great game for the Junior Hockey (Rochester), netting two goals.

Maksymum racked up the penalties in the contest, and ended with six minors and one major for 27 minutes in penalty time. The total exceeded the 19.0 minutes per game the Junior Hockey (Rochester) had been spending in the box. Team could not crack the Jr Monarchs' penalty kill and was held to one power play goal while having nine opportunities to play with the man advantage.

Maksymum additionally got points from Holvey, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Maksymum also got a goal from Mikel Williams as well. In addition, Maksymum received assists from Daniel Goldstein, Michael Whitehair, Bryan Carville, Dylan Versage, and Seth Giles, who contributed one a piece.

New Hampshire was often in penalty trouble, totaling 10 minors and one major for 35 minutes in penalty time. The Jr Monarchs surpassed its season average of 23.0 penalty minutes per game. New Hampshire could not produce up to it normal offensive output. The Jr Monarchs put an average of 5.7 pucks into the net per game. New Hampshire kept Maksymum's goalie busy throughout the game, and Jake Bryniarski made 52 saves on 55 shots.

The Jr Monarchs were helped by Christopher Moquin, who registered one goal. Moquin scored on the power play 9:37 into the third period to make the score 3-3. New Hampshire had taken the advantage when the Junior Hockey (Rochester)'s Holvey got sent off for hooking. Brett Boyer assisted on the tally. New Hampshire also got points from Tracy, who also had one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Ross Mandigo also scored for New Hampshire. More assists for New Hampshire came via Connor Merrick, Shane Earley, and Brent Beaudoin, who each chipped in one.

Maksymum ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Williams was ejected from the game. Cole Burack recorded 26 saves for the Jr Monarchs. New Hampshire registered one goal on six power play opportunities. For the Jr Monarchs, Davis Algra was ejected from the game.
